Job Title: Golf Course Superintendent

Position Summary:
The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This includes turf management, irrigation systems and landscaping. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in agronomy and turfgrass management, leadership abilities, and a commitment to providing excellent playing conditions and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
· Turfgrass Management: Plan and implement turfgrass maintenance programs, including mowing, aeration, fertilization, topdressing, seeding, and pest control.
· Irrigation Oversight: Maintain and operate the golf course irrigation system. Monitor water usage and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficient and effective water management.
· Purchasing: Procure supplies, equipment, and services within budget guidelines.
· Course Preparation: Ensure the course is prepared daily to high standards for member and guest play. Set pins, tee markers, and manage course conditioning for tournaments and events.
· Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with mechanics and ensure all maintenance equipment is properly cared for and operating efficiently.
· Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to chemical application, water use, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
· Experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping or similar areas.
Preferred Skills & Traits:
· GCSAA Certification or active progress toward certification.
· Experience with warm- or cool-season grasses (depending on regional climate).
· Detail-oriented and quality-driven with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
· Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
· Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate machinery as needed.
· This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a visible and active presence on the course.
