About the Role

The Broker of Record is responsible for the successful administration and support of SERHANT.’s licensed brokerage operations in Massachusetts. Supporting SERHANT. Agents in the delivery of exceptional real estate brokerage service to their clients, this position will be accountable for all the operational elements necessary to comply with Massachusetts real estate license law, REALTOR® association membership and MLS participation, along with the transaction review process, compliance training and risk management initiatives.

Responsibilities*

  • Acts in the capacity of Massachusetts Broker of Record
  • Effectively consults and engages with SERHANT. Agents and others in problem-solving of matters associated with difficult or complex transactional issues
  • Collaborates with SERHANT. corporate to ensure compliance with all applicable laws

and regulations including state license law

  • Ensures implementation of risk management programs
  • Oversees the administration of and is the primary point person for SERHANT.’s relationship with local REALTOR associations and Multiple Listing Services
  • Manages and implements the ongoing enhancement of and compliance with company-wide and individual state brokerage operations manuals
  • Encourages innovation so SERHANT. can efficiently support its growing state agent base
  • Performs contract review to ensure legal and contractional compliance of transactions
  • Responsible for the administration and management of SERHANT.’s State Trust Account according to state law (if applicable)
  • Works hand-in-hand with Founding Partners and Principal Agents for the overall success of SERHANT. in the state
  • Disseminates information, training as required, to enhance agent’s knowledge and understanding of contract, risk management, licensing and real estate law
  • Prompt response to Agents requests for assistance
  • Mediates issues between SERHANT. Agents within the state when required
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of SERHANT. ecosystem tools, resources, and technology
  • Champion agent proficiency and effective use of Company systems
  • Support with agent licensure, professional associations, compliance, and listings
  • Stay current with local trends, regulatory changes, industry updates, legislation changes, standards, and compliance
  • Promote SERHANT. internal services in Ventures, Studios, and ID Labs
  • Recruit Agents to SERHANT. Boston

Requirements

  • Live in and hold an active real estate broker’s license, in good standing, in the state of Massachusetts with continuing education credits in real estate, management, and legal compliance
  • High-level experience in real estate compliance actives including a deep knowledge and understanding of legal obligations of real estate professionals under the state and federal law, Department of Commerce Rules and Regulations, Department of Housing and Urban Development, the NAR Code of Ethics and MLS Rules and Regulations
  • Possess the highest degree of integrity
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing
  • Member of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), as applicable
