Data Center Technician – Night Shift

Location: Northlake, IL 60164

Shift: Night Shift B – 12-hour shifts

• Option 1: Thursday–Saturday
• Option 2: Wednesday–Saturday

Rate: $27-32/hour

Type: 6 month Contract to Hire

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Center Technician to join our team and support critical infrastructure operations during night shifts. This role involves hands-on work with hardware components, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth data center functionality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of hardware (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) following detailed instructions, checklists, and standard protocols.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to quickly identify issues and replace faulty components.
• Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) with minimal guidance.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents according to established procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–2 years of experience in Helpdesk, Desktop Support, or IT hardware roles.
• Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
• Reliable, committed, and proactive “go-getter” attitude.
• Ability to work night shifts (12-hour schedule as listed above).

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a data center environment.
